All Music GuideA fine overview of the Alternative Tentacles 1999-2000 roster. The label carries an interesting mix of music, as represented here with excerpts of spoken word pieces, fuzzed-out country music, hardcore, straight-ahead punk rock, industrial, and odd keyboard-driven indie rock. Highlights of the album include the tracks by Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Wesley Willis, Black Kali Ma, NoMeansNo, and SNFU. Even a few unreleased songs are included, such as "Jackson" from Slim Cessna's Auto Club, "Baraboo" by Queen Bee, and Pitchshifter's "Un-United Kingdom Live." Worth checking out.
