Quite a few of the bands on the Bridge Nine roster have some unmistakable hardcore elements in their sound, as well as punk melodies. But on the 2009 release by Strike Anywhere, Iron Front it quickly becomes apparent that these chaps have no time for hardcore crunch guitar or hollering into the mic, as they fully embrace pop-punk -- which leans towards the emo side of things more often than not. If they decide to resurrect the #American Pie movie series, then the filmmakers have a whole album of songs here that would serve as the perfect soundtrack -- especially such hyper-pop/singsongy ditties as "Invisible Colony," "South Central Beach Party," and "The Crossing." Picture the type of music that would perfectly accompany a modern-day teen party getting out of control, and you'll have an idea of what Iron Front sounds like.
