The label sampler A Fistful of Rock N' Roll, Vol. 1 covers the roster of MIA, including bands on Man's Ruin and Tee Pee like the Gaza Strippers and Electric Frankenstein. The music is mostly hard-rocking punk, closer to the MC5/Stooges/New York Dolls school rather than the poppier sounds that have captured a sizable young audience in the '90s. Most of the artists are still up-and-coming, but overall, the sampler isn't a bad way to get acquainted with them.
