The collection features cuts by Arthur Conley ("Sweet Soul Music"), Aretha Franklin ("Chain of Fools"), Wilson Pickett ("In the Midnight Hour"), Booker T. & the MG's ("Green Onions"), Solomon Burke ("Got to Get You Off My Mind"), Archie Bell & the Drells ("Tighten Up"), Sam & Dave ("Hold On! I'm A-Comin'"), Barbara Lewis ("Hello Stranger"), Joe Tex ("Show Me"), the Bar-Kays ("Soul Finger") and Otis Redding ("(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay"). It's a solid sampler that indicates the richness of the label's roster, and for the curious or listeners on a budget, it's an introduction well worth its price.
