Disky's 2004 release This Is Gold is a budget-line release of recordings Domino made at ABC Paramount during the '60s, after he left Imperial. This will certainly be a disappointment for those looking for an affordable collection of Fats' original hit singles. But these are enjoyable recordings, both the re-recordings and ABC/Paramount singles like "Bye Baby Bye Bye" and good versions of "Red Sails in the Sunset," "Kansas City," and "Land of 1000 Dances." As long as you know what you're getting into when you pick up this cheap collection, this is an enjoyable budget-line release.
