Lightning must have struck Numan for this album -- he either wanted to be Janet Jackson or Prince, or both. The backing vocalists wail on, the music thumps along in a zombielike attempt at funk, and the whole works staggers grimly along like a bad attempt at white-boy soul. It's not all bad -- just terribly painful.
