AMG Review of Remixed

All Music GuideThe timing of this album is fairly strange: more than a decade after the fact, how many people were hollering for a compilation of remixes from Cabaret Voltaire's most maligned period? Yet here it is, a compilation of material that originally appeared on Code and Groovy, Laidback and Nasty, with a heavy emphasis on tracks from the latter, weaker album. Considering EMI's access to the three Some Bizarre albums, one can only assume that the Original Sound of Sheffield and Conform to Deform compilations were already in the pipeline and this one was just a collecting-the-remaining-pieces release that managed to sneak out first. Completists may find this useful, but there's very little reason for the merely curious to start here, as much of this material simply sounds dated and derivative this far down the road.
