AMG Review of Trailer Park [Legacy Edition]
Stephen Thomas Erlewine
All Music GuideArista/Legacy's 2009 Legacy Edition reissue of Trailer Park remasters the original 1996 album and expands its length to a double-disc set by adding a second CD collecting all the stray tracks Beth Orton released in the wake of her debut. All the B-sides issued on the CD singles of "She Cries Your Name," "Touch Me with Your Love," and "Someone's Daughter," along with the instrumental of "Touch Me with Your Love" issued as a B-side, to a vinyl 10" of the single of the same name, are here, along with the 1997 EP Best Bit plus "I Love How You Love Me" from the 1998 Mojo soundtrack. All this material maintains the hazy, stylish electronica-folk feel of Trailer Park, capturing that specific vibe better than any of her subsequent albums, so this offers longtime fans of the LP what they've always wanted: more of the same but at the same high level of quality.
