With 30 rare and obscure tracks mastered from original 45s, Teen Town USA is comparable to like-minded '50s rock & roll collections on Germany's Buffalo Bop label, but with better-known artists and even a few hits. Bobby Lee Trammell, Ronnie Dawson, Barry Mann, Johnny Rivers, and the Nighthawks (with Buddy Holly on guitar) are all represented, as well as Jerry Landis ("Lone Teen Ranger"), who later became known to the world as Paul Simon. Subtitled "Rare Teen Music of the '50s and '60s," Teen Town USA delivers loads of fun with reasonably good fidelity and brief notes about each of the selections.
