AMG Review of Revival
Rosalind Cummings-Yeates
All Music GuideA leader in the roots reggae sound during the 70s, The Congos have maintained their basic, uncomplicated sound. However, the emphasis on Cedric Myton's trilling falsetto delivery makes for a less melodious album than would be expected from a roots reggae act. His high-pitched warbling on the opening track of Enemy & Spy is downright irritating and the mundane sound and lyrics on the rest of the tunes do little to offset this fact.
