The first of six LPs released by Hindsight that make available previously unknown performances from Harry James's Orchestra (mostly from radio airchecks), this set (as with the other five) is easily recommended to swing fans. The 16 numbers span a three-year period and, although the exact recording dates are not given (and probably not known) there is an extensive "probable collective personnel" listing. Helen Forrest has four vocals and the obscure "Songmakers" (which includes Forrest) sings "Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea" but otherwise the program is comprised of instrumentals. The fine set has among its highlights "Indiana," "Body and Soul," "All of Me," "Shorty George" and "Girl of My Dreams."
