The music of Jorge Drexler bears a passing resemblance to Caetano Veloso’s more mellow output in its warm, intimate atmosphere, sophisticated melodies, and ties to the singer/songwriter tradition. Cara B is a two-disc live set that features Drexler and his acoustic guitar up close and personal. With his skill on the fretboard matched perfectly by the soft, inviting croon of his voice, Drexler performs beautifully on these 32 Spanish-language tunes, which include “Polvo de Estrellas,” “Horas,” and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Dance Me to the End of Love.”
