Released in 2007, Place 54 is the third effort from Hocus Pocus, and this time, it’s all about paying tribute to a genre that inspired the French hip-hop crew, Funk. The electronic/acoustic group is joined by flutist Magik Malik and trombonist Fred Wesley for an album where half the tracks were recorded live. Usual collaborators the Procussions also appear.
