Although some ears may complain the production is a little too crystal clear, there's no denying that They That Wait is a dynamic contemporary gospel record, one of the best that has been released in many years. The difference is, there's genuine passion in the Georgia Mass Choir's performances -- passion that cuts through the overly clean production, drawing the listener into the spirit of the music. It also helps that Rev. Milton Biggham has written some great, convincing music to accompany these hyms. He's pulled off a clever trick -- the music sounds timeless, but fresh, and that's really the key to any good gospel recordings. Top-drawer stuff.
