They Might Be Giants

Here Come the 123's

Given their reputation as one of alternative rock's nerdiest bands, it makes sense that They Might Be Giants would take an interest in education once they started families of their own. This Grammy-winning album sneaks math lessons into every song. At the same time, Here Come the 123s has everything a cool parent can ask for in a kid's album. The songs are steeped in the band's quirky rock aesthetic, but still short, catchy, and funny enough to appeal to all ages. Sure, the group has indie credibility to spare, but it still could have fallen flat. It only takes one song, though, to realize that music this good is as much for adults as anyone else.
