Carlton Records was an East Coast indie that delved into R&B and rock & roll in the '50s and early '60s, and this entry in Collectables' Spotlite series is the first volume to examine the goodies found in the Carlton vaults. Big-ticket items here are "Prince of Players" by Tommy Fredericks and the Hi-Notes, "Tell Me Little Girl" by the Spices, "Faithfully Yours" by the Imperials, "Simple Simon" by Chip & the Quartertones, and "Heaven" by the Alcoves. More street-corner classics from the Impacts, plus two tracks each from the Capitols, the Strollers, Morry Williams & the Kids, and the Royal Holidays complete the set.
