JamisonParker, the California duo of Jamison Covington (vocals, guitars) and Parker Case (guitars, bass, drums, vocals), takes all the best qualities of Cali pop/rock and melds them into JamisonParker's Notes & Photographs EP. JamisonParker serves up sunny harmonies and lighthearted guitar coupled with often dark lyrics: "I'm an inch away from dying/And I'm lucky if I choke" ("Biting Bullets") or "I'm bleeding and I'm heartless but I'm yours...This is the end of my so-called life" ("Dear Everybody"). There's a touch of emo (Dashboard Confessional seemingly influenced the duo) in Covington's boyish, nasal voice. Hopefully, JamisonParker will be counted for the duo's own talent, instead of being lumped aimlessly into the emo category.
