Wayne Watson is a gifted singer/songwriter. He certainly knows how to write a catchy tune. In fact, by the third play-through of A Beautiful Place, the listener is hooked on most of the tracks. Although none of the album's tracks approach masterpiece status like "Friend of a Wounded Heart" from his excellent Watercolour Ponies, there's not a bad song among the ten tracks.
