A nice album of mambos (this is really what one should expect from Machito, one of the true mambo kings). This album also has a bit of rhumba tossed in for good measure (for those who haven't noticed the title). Since it was released some ten years after Machito's death, one can't be entirely sure whether or not the album was meant by the label to be a basic greatest-hits compilation (and the lack of extensive liner notes adds to the dilemma). Whatever the intention, this is certainly a worthwhile album, though other albums released during Machito's life are almost certainly better.
