The ambitious Standing Up Straight builds on the eclecticism of the EPs collected on The Legendary Wolfgang Press, further broadening the trio's horizons by layering their dark, unforgiving sound with elements of industrial and classical music. While "Hammer the Halo" and "Rotten Fodder" in particular stand out as two of the group's most aggressive efforts, the intensity level remains high throughout -- a challenging, even punishing album, but a rewarding one as well.
