Year Long Disaster's eponymous EP revealed tantalizing clues about their subsequent full-length debut and its post-grunge interpretation of '70s riff rock (with a few Southern touches thrown in for good measure). Just as Soundgarden once showed what could happen if Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath experienced a head-on collision, YLD tracks like "You Don't Want to Let Me Down," "Shapeless Nasty," and the "La Grange"-like "Victory at Sea" sound like Chris Cornell's crew spliced with ZZ Top! And the remaining two cuts, "The Mad Shrew" and "Trading Favors," keep things interesting by casting links to the stoner rock and doom scenes active during both the 1990s and 2000s.
