This budget-priced Culture Club compilation from EMI International is essentially the first 12 tracks of Disky's 1998 Best of Culture Club collection. The latter offers a fairly complete overview of the controversial British new wave/blue-eyed soul outfit, while Platinum, though it features hits like "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," "Church of the Poison Mind," and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya," is made irrelevant by the fact that it excludes the group's biggest hit, "Karma Chameleon." Listeners would be better off with 1993's At Worst...The Best of Boy George and Culture Club or 2005's Greatest Hits.
