In a way, Playlist: The Very Best of Backstreet Boys is an update, but not a sequel to, The Hits: Chapter One, since it covers the albums Backstreet Boys released after that compilation was issued. It's a straightforward set that covers the basics, including earlier singles -- "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," "As Long as You Love Me," "I Want It That Way" -- as well as later ones -- "Incomplete," "Inconsolable." With eco-friendly, no-frills packaging, it's aimed at the casual fan and not the collector.
