WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

This Is The Greatest Day Of My Life

Posted over 2 years ago
Okay, so let me start this off with a little background story...So, about a year and a half ago, I would record songs on my stereo onto a tape. Well, I started to record this one song, and it was brilliant! The worst thing is, though, is that my tape ran out of tape to record on, so I got only half of the song and at the end of the song, another song followed it. It was late at night and it was just a long set of music playing, and I knew the DJs would not announce the song. So I was bummed, BUT I thought about searching for the lyrics online so I could buy the c.d. Good thinking, right? WRONG. I have looked for this song for a year now, and I haven't looked for it in the past six months because I had given up on it. Well, today, I don't know what made me think of it, but I googled the lyrics, and it popped up as the number one link!!! I could not believe it, and then I saw that there was a video for the song and I freaked. The song is "We Drink On the Job" by Earlimart and I know that people are thinking, "what a psycho, it's just a song" but all the crap I had to go through, and how cool this song is, yeah, it's worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this band to everyone and the song is so simple, yet so catchy. I sure hope someone else agrees with me and I am not just sounding like some crazy person.it's the guy on the right, WHOO!

  1. goodmusiconly says You are not alone. I dig Earlimart. That's Aaron Espinosa, frontman, on the right ... They have released another album since the one you're speaking of: "Treble and Tremble" and another is forthcoming in early 2007. Aaron was a huge fan of Elliott Smith, and later became his friend and neighbor in Silver Lake, CA. "Treble and Tremble" was written in the year following Elliott's death ... most songs are about Aaron coming to grips with losing his friend or dealing with relationship loss. "Heaven Adores You" is a great song worth checking out. It's a great little album. Check out Earlimart's page on newspace, where I believe they have some early pre-release from the forthcoming album. Aaron also owns/runs his own music production studio.
