Editors Concert
-
Artist:Louis XIV, Hot Hot Heat, Editors
So last weekend was the Editors concert in Salt Lake. Louis XIV and Hot Hot Heat opened for them. Louis XIV was quite possibly the second to worst band i've seen, the worst being a random Portland band that consisted of two lumberjack looking men playing 15 minute guitar pieces, with accompaniment by a woman on a xylophone. They have a song that I like, but live it wasn't as good. These guys were a disappointment. They dressed and acted too over the top, and it seemed really unnatural for them. Hot Hot Heat was better. There performance was much more energetic and captivating, as the crowd sang along to songs like Goodnight, Goodnight, and Bandages. My only complaint was that the lead singer looked like Carrot Top's deformed brother. The Editors were definitely the best band of the night. I hadn't heard much of them, but their performance was brilliant. The lead singer, Tom Smith, was mesmerizing. Not only was his voice captivating, but his motions were as well, as he raised his guitar in the air, and climbed on top of the piano. Now, I am extremely heterosexual, but he was hot. Which definitely added to the entertainment value. But add the fact that the music is actually pretty dang good, and I have to say that they are definitely a band I would see again.
