I took my eldest to Big School for the first time today.It's only what we brits call "reception class", it's not as if he's off smoking behind the bike sheds yet.But I found myself this morning, standing in a playground, watching him in his bright new uniform filing off in a little procession of other four and five year olds, and thinking "that's my baby".It would be more accurate to say "that _was_ my baby"!Where have the last four years and eleven months gone? A curious thing about having almost-five-year-olds is that they creep up on you. One minute you're clutching a tiny helpless fragile thing that still isn't strong enough to hold its own head up, and in front of your eyes, he learns how to eat, walk, talk, draw, dress, read, tell jokes...
