  10. etcvisitor says bob ross had a painting show on television in which he would paint happy little clouds and happy little trees and talk about highlights and mixing paint. the guy had the most soothing voice you have ever heard and he made really generic easy to look at paintings that didnt really say much about anything. the most memorable episodes were the ones where he brought an injured squirrel that he had nursed back to help on TV and talked about the importance of letting wild animals be wild and not keeping them as pets. he then let the squirrel go back to the wild... i think the squirrels name was peanut or something. it was pretty neat in a weird white guy with an afro catches a squirrel kind of way.

  11. adam judy says ah yeah i know who you mean. my old art school had a poster of the guy plugging some art products. my vote for most soothing voice would have to go to werner herzog. ill never forget this article that i read about how joaquin phoenix was salvaged from a car wreck by herzog. and i quote - The actor says, "I remember this knocking on the passenger window. There was this German voice saying, 'Just relax.' There's the airbag, I can't see and I'm saying, 'I'm fine. I am relaxed. Finally, I rolled down the window and this head pops inside. And he said, 'No, you're not.' "And suddenly I said to myself, 'That's Werner Herzog!' There's something so calming and beautiful about Werner Herzog's voice. I felt completely fine and safe. I climbed out. I got out of the car and I said, 'Thank you,' and he was gone." what an odd coincidence. apparently herzog lived nearby.

  12. etcvisitor says that is one of the strangest stories ive ever heard. herzog has a strange knack for being in the right place at the right time... or atleast an odd place at an odd time.

  13. adam judy says indeed man, odd is a good word to describe the guy. i read the book ''herzog on herzog'' whilst at university and theres some real gems in there. like this one time he lost a bet and ate his own shoe, and he talks about his own film school, where the only qualifications necessary to attend would be that the potential student must walk 3000 miles in order to attend the fictional place. for the record this is my favourite herzog clip. he actually got shot whilst filming this interview for the bbc. you see the bullet hit him and everything.
