So I've been working since May on a project for 88.5 WXPN . We're collecting the 885 Most Memorable Music Moments. The site and on-air promotion launched a couple of weeks ago, and it's been pretty amazing to read stories from our listeners like this and this.

I wanted to reach out to the MOG community and ask you to participate as well. I would love to add your music moments to the site. While we're looking for your personal stories, we'd also love to hear what you think are the most substantial historic music moments.

XPN is hosting the Great Lake Swimmers on Friday at the World Cafe Live. If you're unable to join us for the Free @ Noon concert, you can hear the performance broadcast live at XPN .org/listen.

Great Lake Swimmers explores the worlds of indie folk, roots music and alt-country pop, with a focus on lyrics and the craft of songwriting. Their records are permeated with the lush natural reverb of various acoustically unique locations, which create the backdrop for the melancholic songs. The atmospheric sound has been referred to as “ambient folk."
