MOG

Of the many Swedish bands I like, Europe would have to be my favourite. Ok, so a lot of their early stuff is a bit naff, but a band that can successfully reinvent themselves for a new generation of fans without any outside help at all commands my respect.
With original guitarist John Norum back on board, 2004's Start from the Dark was a lot rockier (and less keyboardy!) than their early body of work and paved the way for 2006 - Secret Society.
I went to see Europe, purely off the back of some good reviews, on the Secret Society tour. My god - they blew me away! This band seriously deserves to be much bigger than they are at the moment. I can barely believe the transformation! Parts Led Zeppelin, hints of System Of A Down (!), but mainly upgraded Europe. Secret Society is one of my favourite albums ever.
So in summary, if you like rock (of any kind at all) you should buy a new Europe album. And I didn't even mention the final countdown! oh, damn...
