Swearing in a chorus automatically makes song good...

It's true. If you add an expletive into a hook it automatically makes the song ten times better. Now of course this doesn't work in all musical genres. I mean, look in any rap/hip-hop song and it is entirely possible that there is going to be a swear word in it. Especially in that new pop hip-hop that glamorizes the money spending "bling" having lifestyle they all seem to know so well and speak of in their first single EVER. But, if you put a good f@*k or s%!t in the chorus of a pop rock or power pop song then you my friend have an instant classic. The song doesn't even have to be about anything. Just pop in the obscenity and you've got a tune that will stick in the minds of America. Either for reasons of dislike and disdain or for the sheer joy of hearing words your mom yelled at you for saying blurted out the speakers of your car stereo or walkman. I have heard many songs from such bands as Fountains of Wayne or The Fags who have put in a choice word to add emphasis to a chorus. It makes it stick out to swear in a hook especially since it immediately makes it taboo and completely unable to be played on the radio. For if it was it would have to be edited thus maddening fans of the band and leaving a nice little surprise for any first time buyers of any record by this band. Which could either alienate them or further their hatred of the man and his system of censorship. So, I say, write more songs everyone with words of color and shock value. Make the world cringe at the thought of their children listening to your music. After all, that is what art is supposed to do. Make people think. I've attached a great example of my theory to this post, a song by Fountains of Wayne called "Bright Future in Sales" off of their album Welcome Interstate Managers. Give it a listen and hear for yourself to see if I'm crazy or not. But doesn't that song rock fucking socks just a little bit more thanks to that choice word? It might just be me, but that song makes me wanna dance and I sure as hell know why. Thanks.
