I haven't posted in a long while so I thought maybe I should put something up.The Fountain is a movie that came out couple months ago that I had been waiting for for years. Darren Aronofsky is a genius he hasn't made many movies (only 3 had theatrical releases) but everyone has been a killer. I think that the Fountain tops his short list as his best piece of art.Thats what it is pure and simple its a work of art. The cinimatics are beautiful. It is now in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. The story revolves around the tree of life and distances (both time and space) people will go too for someone they love.But since this is MOG I must talk about something to do with music. So I will talk about the soundtrack. The soundtrack is done by Mogwai & the Kronos Quartet. It is a very powerful soundtrack for a very powerful movie. The music is very integral to the over all film. I don't think it would of been as good of a movie with out this soundtrack.Its really hard to describe, I could tell you what it sounds like...who it reminds me of..but I don't think thats good enough. In fact...I don't think you should listen to the soundtrack till you see the movie. Make sure when you see the movie you have a nice big screen and powerful speakers.So thats kind of a rambling not well put together post...oh well..I am tired and have been drinking...P.S. you should also go see Pan's Labyrinth. Its also fantastic.
