When I was a but a wee lad I ran across a beat up 45 of Mary Hopkin doing a song called Goodbye. The 45 had the big green apple on the label that I would come to be so familiar with as my music tastes matured, but not until I became friends with some extreme Beatleheads in junior high did I know that "Goodbye" was a McCartney tune written specifically for Hopkin. Finally, one of these Beatlehead friends digitized the bootleg McCartney version for me (please excuse the pops) that for the most part is exactly how Hopkin performed it.
