I was put onto these guys by my music mentor, my music yoda and the person who expands my music path each and every day.
To you mwah for being my music light...
We spent several hours discusssing Eagles of Death Metal just last night...we watched every video, discussed the different drummer in a few songs and who we thought better, marvelled at the great guitar work and basically decided that they .. are the bomb..
Now.. all I want to do is see them live... ASAP.... NOW.. immediately....
I cant make up my mind which their songs I like the most... I just love them all...cant get any of them out of my head today.. I have had to go back for a fix several times...
Their music videos are filled with scantily clad women in a multitude of suggestive poses, every single one of them.. but hey its just them... no surprise their album was called Death by Sexy....
Take some time and listen and watch the videos... if you dont wanna watch, just listen...woo hoo, money back guarantee...
Some backgound:
The Eagles Of Death Metal started out in 1998 as a side-project for singer and guitarist Josh Homme, perhaps better known as frontman of Queens Of The Stone Age and Jesse 'The Devil' Hughes on guitar and drums (and vocals)
They recruited guitarist Timmy VanHamel and kicked off their first tour in late 2003 playing dates with Placebo.
In March 2004 "Peace Love Death Metal" their debut full-length disc reached the #34 position on the Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
In the fall of 2005 Homme and Hughes were joined in the studio by the hilarious Jack Black from Tenacious D, The Distillers frontwoman and wife of Homme Brody Dalle, guitarist Mark Lanegan, ex-Hole Samantha Maloney and Joey Castillo on drums to record "Death By Sexy" in April 2006.
Despite critical acclaim, the lead single, "I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News)", failed to make the Modern Rock Top 40.
Their new single Wannabe in LA off Heart On is due for release Oct 28th..
Vids in order:
1. I only want you
2. I want you so hard (on Letterman flimed in the middle of Broadway)
3. Speaking in tongues

I loved this post, You are really laying it out nicely here hitting me from all sides of the musical palate. After reading/seeing these guys on this post, if I don't get to see them soon, It will be Death by "Unsexy"! Thanks!!
BTW, the answer to question is, it depends on who is WooT!! Some people have a very strong WooT and therefore one would need to have a few more woohooo's to make a WooT, but on average I'd say 2 Woohoo's are a good amount, but if you are in the back somwhere beyond the stage say 100 feet of this band EoDM, you probably won't even register on any level of Woohoo's or WooTs in this band's performance you reckon??
Arent you in Portland? They are doing some shows there this very month!!!!... You are obliged, no it it your MOG duty to see them!!!
You obviously havent heard me woot or woo hoo!!!... lol.. I find it only takes several woots prior to being able to bring forth a woo hoo that is audible in the next city... :-)
I love finding other people who are as into EODM as I am! This band rocks! Check out our interview with Jesse...it's pretty funny. There's a lot of live performance footage in the clip from their recent show at the Mayan in Los Angeles (two drummers that night - Josh Homme and Joey Castillo!!!!). This is the direct link to their video on the MishMash site - EODM Interview
Thanks so much for this... I have already listened/watched the interview (who would have thought he knew how to blend blush...lol) and footage of the gig... just WILD!!! Loved it...
You posted my 3 favourite EODM songs!!! And in my order of preference! Eerie...
Anyway, I love them, too, and I'll probably go mental when I see them live.
New single is so and so, but I'll wait for the whole album before I sport an opinion.
Cheers!
*shaking it*
I have listened to Wannabe in LA several times and I was disappointed on first listen and still cant get into it... havent heard the rest of 'Hard On' yet... but Im not writing it off yet...read a review yesterday that gave a lot of kudos...
