MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

(132)

. . I go from one of my worst to one of my better ones... I do like the way this one turned out... (although some people thought it was a bit creepy, I was going for a sense of wonder and mystery... works for me.) . . TV on the Radio don't need people like me telling people like you how cool they are. TV on the Radio, like 'em or not, are cool. The concert this poster was for, featured one of the greatest openings of any show I've seen... spine-tingling music to play upon the anticipation of the show... It was an amazing experience (both nights!)... and Noisettes were very good, as well... they will be heard from... worth checking out. . . I found out after the show (as Kip Malone signed the poster) that he had lived on my street (a couple of blocks away from me) in San Francisco... small world. It's a good thing he moved to Brooklyn to help start this band... . . ...Now... close your eyes and picture a darkened hall with an eerie blueish light hitting the stage... you're surrounded by a thousand people... waiting... and then... Here's that opening number... "Tonight"... . .

While they may be cool, there's way to much music out there for me to spend a lot of time "trying" to like them. After about 6 spins, gave them up. Funny, your poster depicts pretty well how I feel reaching for whatever place TV on the Radio are playing from. I need some advil...

Hey, I remember that poster! Missed the show (though I had just found the Noisettes record then too and liked it), but saw the poster back then. Liked it then, like it now. Good work.

Thanks for the words, gang... I appreciate it... sorry you missed the show, chainsaw... I think they're even better live... If you have a chance to see 'em live, they're worth it...

Scotty... thanks for the laugh... I definitely needed that this morning... (and sorry it came courtesy of your Excedrin moment.... ) ...hope I didn't trigger a migraine.

Oh, I've seen TVOTR live and enjoyed them even better so than on record. I meant just that I missed that particular Fillmore show last winter. (Frankly, I don't like the venue all that much.)

oh... then you were one of the lucky ones to see them at a smaller venue (The Independent?)... I'm envious.... The Fillmore is about the biggest venue I'll go to see a show...

Saw them here in Sacramento in Sept. 2006 at a 350-capacity (give or take) venue. That's a good size for a show. I hardly ever venture anywhere bigger than Fillmore either.

You think TVOTR are cool? I think your poster is cool. I love your illustrations.

I aggree, TVOTR are great in concert. I caught them this spring at the First Avenue here in Minneapolis. They really know how to put on a show.

that's awesome, chain... would have loved to see them in a venue that small... They worked perfectly for the Fillmore, though... no complaints on that show...

Thanks Marigold!... seeing a band in a small venue is a priceless event... I saw Arcade Fire at a really small venue in San Francisco (Bottom of the Hill)... probably 250 people... it was amazing...
