As I type these words, I'm listening to a song from the new Okkervil River album... it's getting to me... again.
The song is "Savannah Smiles" and I must have listened to it 15-20 times and it's held its emotional impact every time.
Whatever mystical ingredients (lyrics, tune, voice, choice of instruments) that equal that kind of impact in a song are here in spades.
A friend of mine turned me on to this band... what a gift... (the rest of the album is pretty damn good, too)... although this plays a bit slow (don't know why...) Take a listen for yourself... and keep a tissue near.

This blows me away. I listened to this the other day...liked it, registered it in my subconscious, and moved on. Today I was looking through my podcasts and I realize that I have a concert from All Songs Considered podcast to listen to. Blows me away figuratively, not literally. But wow. Now I have a who concert of theirs to listen to. Yipee.
