..This post is the equivalent of showing up at a birthday party two hours late and yelling "surprise!" as people look up while scarfing down their second piece of cake.Contrabandwidth...http://mog.com/contrabandwidth/blog_post/107997and Dachmo...http://mog.com/dachmo/blog_post/107913...have been all over this... but even though I'm late to the party, I'm going to yell it anyway... (feel free to throw cake at me...) This is an amazing video (in the Donnie Darko style) by Bat For Lashes... I love her voice and it's a great tune......so with a big tip o' the cap to Contra and Dach... Here's Bat For Lashes (aka: Natasha Khan)....

I've yet to find the edit points, I just don't believe that the guys behind her can hide so well. The Whole album is great, she does a cover of Bruce Springsteens that's I like a lot.

Donnie Darko style, well noted. Love the song, and I enjoy the vid, so one more post does me good!
I NEVER throw my cake around. There is a special place in hell for people who waste their food like that...especially if it's sweet ;o)

Thanks for all the comments!
Annie: That's pretty strange... or kismit... or synchronicity... or somethingorother...
dachmo! Take a bow! (you, too Contra!)... spooky cool version of "I'm On Fire"... I love it! Thanks for posting...
Sam: Well, hop on board... I just heard for the first time, too...
Anna: I glad it served its purpose... I'm not much of a cake-thrower either... wasted sweet is a terrible thing.... I believe you're talking about the 5th Circle... the one between murderers and thieves....
ZenPop says
oh and Dach... I'm guessing that much like the Feist video for "1234", there's was some digital layering done here....
brilliant, nonetheless... (especially love that car crash scene!)

Miss Khan's music seems to slowly follow its own course to people's heart. It's very interesting to see how a budding artist gather momentum and gains a public.
(I still remember I bought the CD a couple of weeks after its release here in London because I'd vaguely heard about her - A month later, I lent it to a friend of mine in France. Then around the time I joined MOG, BFL was all over the I-net and particularly on this side of MOG)
Marigold says
I love that video. I need to give BFL more time on the player. Honestly I have not even heard the record yet. I have seen that video several times over the last month or two and it is good. It helps that the song is great as well.
contrabandwidth says
Hey, BFL found me, just like she found you. I used it for that whole Mog experiment thing (which did work, BTW - we just didn't get her to #1) because they had her as a free download on iTunes. So, I feel if BFL finds you, you will appreciate it that much more.

Dag nabbit!! ...Digital layering? huh, I guess they do that with those funny looking picture boxes the kids are always playing with these days.
...and I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those pesky kids!!!
Oh wait! ...Ahhh, nevermind!
ZenPop says
Bartleby: local means you're ahead of the game... spreading the love, too... cheers!
Marigold: yeah... I've yet to pick up the album... just a matter of time, though...
Contra: Still appreciate the heads up!... that's MOG in a nutshell...
Summer: me too!
Dach: Ha!... Sometimes it's best not to know how the hot dog is made... (unless it's an actual hot dog... then I may or may not want to know how it's made... )
