I finally found a home for an illustration I did a while ago... I always liked this image, but it took the Cloud Cult show at The Independent in San Francisco to make it happen. (Someone even had this art tattoo'd on their leg!) The result (limited-edition of 50, signed & numbered) is posted here... along with a cool tune from Say Hi...
I've been a huge fan of Cloud Cult for a couple years, but I was treated to a great triple bill last night... Ice Palace opened and played a great set... (more on them in a future post)... Next up was a wonderful surprise, SAY HI... formerly known as SAY HI TO YOUR MOM... Say Hi is basically Eric Elbogen... a talented guitarist/singer/songwriter from Seattle. He took the stage last night with an excellent drummer (sorry I didn't catch the name) and they proceeded to tear into song after song... quality maintained throughout... I've provided a sample of the music... it's from the new album, which I had to have...
Cloud Cult then took the stage and (of course) burned through an amazing set... Cloud Cult is one of those bands where the term CINEMATIC can be a comfortable fit... They can bring you to tears on one song and then have you jumping up and down the next... If you have a chance to see them, do yourself a favor and make the time... you won't be sorry.

im still reeling from the fact that they did a commercial for esurance...
I got to see Cloud Cult open Saturday at Coachella, and it was absaolutely worth it. I had only heard their music in passing before, but that show was such fun that I became a fan for life.
i've seen cloud cult and say hi, but never together. there were here in seattle last friday but i couldn't go...love the artwork and i'm glad i got to hear a report on this matchup!
And I got to see Cloud Cult open Saturday at Coachella with Dale.

Yeah, some good stuff there John. Did they have an artist painting on stage and did you buy it?
