Sweet Soul Music

So this is going to be a short one because I have class tomorrow at 9 am but I figured I should 'mog' about something and the main music thing I've been digging lately is soul music. Something about Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Booker T & the MG's and all that great stuff that is just so loose and energetic that it's just so timeless and fun. The looseness of all that music and the flow that comes with it is just so real and incredible, listen to Sam Cooke live in harlem square and listen to how smooth and loose the band is and how much fun Sam and everyone in the audience is having. Without trying to sound like a music snob or a pretentious art kid I'd like to say that i respect and love how 'organic' all of this stuff sounds, before auto-tune, before MIDI, before digital remastering, its just a bunch of people playing music and having a good time. You gotta know where it started to know where its going and this music is the foundation of so much and all of these artists are essential to any music collection.
