A drunkard's dream if I ever did see one...

Other than the unoriginality of the bandname, I love this cd. I'd seen parts of The Last Waltz a couple times and decided to check these guys out. Got there second album because it had the highest rating on allmusic.com (I defer to that sometimes when deciding if I should buy something or not), and it is great and solid all the way around. It sounds like it's from the 70s, 'cause it is, but it has a certain uniqueness to it compared to similar artists at the time. It's very Southern, but it's not quite Southern rock, and The Band has a certain jammy sound to them, but they're not a jam band, so the music kind of stands out to me. Anyways, I wanted to get a video of "Jemima Surrender" on here, but alas youtube suprisingly did not have one, so I'll go with this single instead. I like how this song has a little bit of funk to it with the harpsicord or whatever the guy is playing.

  4. Chaos Cowboy says Aah. You've made an important discovery, man. This is one of the best groups ever to be formed in the history of rock and folk music. (see my mog as further evidence of my love ot The Band) They captured the soul of the American south and midwest better than any band to date, and they were primarily Canadian, particularly Robbie, the main songwriter! BTW, I think that the name is so obvious that it circles around and becomes extremely original. But again, I'm a huge fan, so I can't be trusted. :)
