Just bought tickets for the Velvet Revolver/Alice In Chains show on Sep. 28 in The Woodlands, TX (basically Houston more or less). Pretty pumped up about it. The tickets were pretty expensive so we had to get lawn seats, but it's still gonna be awesome. Velvet Revolver will be cool, but the main reason I'm going of course is to see AIC (you know that they would be the headlining act and VR would be supporting if Layne were still alive). I know this is obviously not the official real Alice lineup, but alas it is the closest I will ever get, so I have decided to take the opportunity. I do think that this Duvall guy has done a good job, though. He's sings the vocals in the same style as Layne, but not to the point where he's imitating him, which is nice. And Jerry and the guys will be great as well.Here's a recent bootleg video of them that's pretty good quality:
