The mighty Lift To Experience currently reside in the same category as Dark Star, one absolutely ground breaking album underground legends that deserved more recognition. Their seminal 2001 album 'The Texas Jerusalem Cross Roads'remains unbeaten in terms of prophetic and profound lyrics..A sort of concept album about Endtimes and Texas being the promised land..Very post-rock, very post-buckley, critics described them as Jeff Buckley fronting God Speed You Black Emperor..So that's that one taken boys.. To quote their enigmatic singer Josh Pearson.." All you hair cut bands doing that thing... put your guitars up over your shoulder a new sort of experience is taking over.. We are simply the best band in the whole damned land and Texas is the reason"Self Belief and Self Awareness incarnate..

    ZADKIEL says I take it the world doesn't know much about Josh Pearson and Lift to Experience? That's a shame, this band as I said are currently defunct but burned with a incandescent glory. Josh is still screaming like a banshee somewhere across Europe but is at the moment a lonewolf, a singer whose comrades have fallen behind somewhere along the way.. I've met him twice and he is a very cool person. Very softly spoken. Anyway he has had the material for a solo album for some time now, with the title (Angels versus Devils) and fans of Lift.. are waiting with baited breath for the day it comes to fruition. Lift to Experience's 'The Texas-Jerusalem cross roads' is after all cult listening.. Catch Josh Pearson, where ever he turns up, it could be near you in the form of an exiled prophet with plenty of catharsis yet to go through..
