The Boxing Mirror

Stylistically Al visits a number of different places on The Boxing Mirror, and all of them are welcomed (um, with the exception a disco-esque moment). This album is a pretty good place to learn about Alejandro…another is his first album, Gravity, one of my personal favorites, and maybe one of my all time top 20 albums. If you want to download one solid song to represent Al in your collection, go for Five Hearts Breaking off of Gravity(studio) or More Miles Than Money (live).WW

    staxman says Yeah, the one track towards the end of the album really throws me, too. Also, I am uncertain about Cale's production work. This album is good, but it took multiple listens and seeing Alejandro perform the new songs live before I enjoyed listening to the album in its entirety. It may be ignorant of me to do so, but I think I am going to blame Cale for the reason that these songs don't work as well as they could have.
