Giving up on MOG

Posted over 2 years ago
After several unsuccessful attempts at getting Mog-O-Matic to work, sending in an unanswered request for assistance from Mog's tech support, and finally finding a WinAmp plugin that works with Facebook, I have decided to give up on Mog -- at least for a while. I'll check back some day and try the Mog-O-Matic again in the future.I think the problem is that all of my music is stored on a shared folder on file server. M-o-M doesn't seem able to handle tracking of network songs either by UNC (\\server\music) or by mapped drive letter (M:\ or S:\Music\).

  1. Lester Jonze says I've had this issue, it won't track unless you install and run MoM and play the files on the computer the files are actually on. Then It's gravy. Don't give up dude, this place is too cool to leave.

  3. Willscrlt says I'm just leaving until MOG fixes the M-O-M so that it can track music stored on my network drive. After all, my music collection is a large reason I added that network drive in the first place. I was tired of it sucking up my PC's hard drive space. Plus, now I can listen to it from any room I happen to be in. Networked music files are the way to go. Someday MOG will fix their software, and then everyone can enjoy the goodness. I was surprised to see two responses, and in such a short time. I just wish that support were as responsive. That, too, will improve over time, I'm sure. :-)

  5. snakama says Mapping your drive should work. Did you add the mapped drive to the list of folders in Mogomatic?

  6. Willscrlt says For anyone who is interested, last.fm (http://www.last.fm/) works beautifully with Winamp. That's what I switched to. It does everything I wanted MOG to do, only better and more easily. Sorry MOG.
