In case you missed it when it made the rounds a few years back, here are Seu Jorge's mesmerizing acoustic versions of 13 David Bowie tunes... all sung in Portuguese. A concept that began as a cheeky aside within the Bill Murray comedy, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, took on a life of its own thanks to Jorge's warm Brazilian manner and Bowie's long familiar melodies, which haunt these interpretations with an alternate universe appeal. If you're into Bowie, you should already own this set. If not, be prepared to experience Ziggy Stardust with an all new perspective. Bowie himself was impressed, stating in the liner notes that he heard a "new level of beauty" in Jorge's renditions. The album closer is an Jorge original.
