Dark Poet Live (1992)
Disturbing Unreleased Stand-Up
A legendary, unreleased 1992 Toronto show by the late, great comic, Bill Hicks. Those who know his work should enjoy this show, but even fans will be amazed at how "dark" Hicks is during this performance. The crowd is subdued and Hicks, who's working with a fever, takes issue with their complacency almost immediately. It kind of goes downhill from there. It's not a total disaster gig, just one of those performances that's more confrontational than funny. "I feel like I'm doing this in the Great Northwest, and I'm all alone in a f**king clearing on a tree stump," Hicks says, punctuating the silence with his own cricket sounds. Raw, fascinating Hicks.
Human Fellowship (3:00)
The Comedy Of Hate (3:24)
Settle In For This One (2:59)
Willy's Balance (6:05)
It's All A Dream (6:11)
Little Satan Boy (5:22)
A Man Of Taste And Decency (4:58)
Mystery In My Trousers (3:37)
Cancer! Cancer! (4:44)
The Irony Of Pure Hatred (6:06)
Deep Hole Of Comedic Ineptitude (2:55)
The God Of Comedy - Jah (5:16)
I'm Talking To Myself (5:52)
That Is Cleverness (4:25)

Yow. He's on a mission. Again....
So where the f*#% are the Hot Licks?!
Oh- this is BILL Hicks....the comedian...not DAN Hicks, the musician.....
Right- got it.
This guy is/was dark. I read he died of pancreatic cnacer but if you had told me he died of terminal cynicism, I'd have bought it.
Memo to Bill: I love New York and, no, I don't smoke- so what's it to ya'?
Always nice to hear some Bill Hicks I haven't heard before. That's the trouble with dead comedians - they so rarely have new material.
HA! Terminal cynicism is right. But, can you blame him when he's had to endure the DAN Hicks jokes all these years. Thanks for the comments.
this was a crazy assed show here
haha i love how he pissed ppl off
