WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Music News and A Musical Response to Swine Flu

Posted 7 months ago

The Pierces have been pretty quiet since the release of Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge, but news comes that they are busily working on new songs for their next album and are performing in Paris on May 28th at Le Nouveau Casino - 8pm.

Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli are hitting the road and both have a number of new projects in the works, but not Gutter Twins- Mark Lanegan is working on a new solo album as well, which if we all remember Bubblegum is a very good thing... For aussies like me, theyre (unconfirmed, but i'm chasing it up) playing in Sydney and Melbourne before hitting Splendour in the Grass with MGMT and Flaming Lips.

and with swine flu around, i thought a musical response to disease would be appropriate (if a bit morbid and out of line)- So if youre looking for something to get you through the quarantine- why not the excellent Plague Songs compilation, Scott Walker's Cue from The Drift or his 60's B-Side "The Plague".

Scott seems to be the go with me atm, i may be obsessed
