In one of my previous posts BeatleMeyer asked what good music there is in Sweden currently. There's a lot! I'm sure most of you know that Sweden is the 3rd largest producer of music in the world (following the USA and the UK). There's pop, punk, garage, rockabilly, psychobilly, a lot swedish hip hop(which is very funny for me, because they have virtually NO lower class here in Sweden. I don't even blink at the "ghettos" here. You gotta love socialism and the fact that politicians are actually ACCOUNTABLE to the people...I'm getting off track here, back to the story) and every other genre you might be looking for.I'm mainly a rock and roll guy, there's plenty of good rock bands up here: The Hellacopters, Soundtrack Of Our Lives, The Chronics, The Chuck Norris Experiment, The Dee Rangers, the Maggots, the Voladoras, Sons of Cyrus, the list goes on and on... However, today, I present to you the band Dollhouse. I'd post a graphic, but I'm lazy so here's a link their homepage: http://www.mc5.org/dollhouse/I've discussed this band with some friends, while at their concerts. One of my friends thought they weren't good "it's nothing new", a line I hear a lot from people. In regards to various different bands. They are a somewhat derivative band. It's obvious that they listen to loads of Hendrix, the MC5, the Mooney Suzuki (before they went mainstream and really started to suck), Hellacopters, James Brown, the Who, Rolling Stones and a bunch of other wonderful performers. I think they are a band that wears their influences on their sleeves...and why shouldn't they? In my opinion they are very good at what they are playing. They put on a good show, they're great performers, they have good songs. It's rock and roll, and it's good. If anyone out there in Mogland digs high energy rock and roll, check 'em out. They have a myspace profile, free listens: http://www.myspace.com/rockandsoulYou'll either really dig 'em or you won't like them one bit.
