End of the year purchase #2 ~ Sinatra and Dorsey

Final purchase of 2008 #2 is an oldie but a goldie. I've been putting this off for a little while, and then I decided to spend money I don't really have to get the double LP, 1980s release of the Tommy Dorsey & Frank Sinatra sessions Vol. 2. Was that a run-on sentence? Anyway...I love the combination of Doresy and Sinatra circa 1940. I already have vol. 1, so of course it was time to pick up Vol. 2! This volume has 2 of my favorite songs from this team during that era: Oh Look At Me Now & Shadows In The Sand. Without A Song is pretty damn amazing too!

Here I post for your enjoyment, Shadows In The Sand. However not the LP version but a live version from the release So Little Time. In part because I think back to Anna's post about live recordings some months ago. This is a case where the studio recording is wonderful but this live recording, in my opinion, really nailed this tune. The live recording is far better than the studio recording. Near perfection!

I'm quite sure this is the most played track in my iTunes. I just love this song!
