And now I'm even MORE pissed....

because I just wrote something, and MOG freakin' ate my post. I no longer understand this MOG system - I hit the delete key to try and delete a word and next thing I know I'm getting bumped backwards in MOG land and all my text is gone! SO now MOG has just made my mood (& morning) worse, than before I signed in!!!Let me try this again, Take 2:It's been a shite morning, I can't do my fav Satruday m

Let it snow, let it snow...and surf!

I've said it before, and here I go again: I'm a sucker for (good) surf music! And in the context of this post, I'm a northman, thus I love the snow and cold. Summer in Michigan is just 3 months of bad sledding. Today we got a few more inches of the white stuff, and I'm loving it!I totally love this track by the Snow Men. Its not the typical, run of the mill surf song - partly because its a winter

Lux Interior ~ I just can't freakin' believe it!

First Ron Asheton bites the dust NOW Lux is snatched from us. I can't say anything new about the Cramps that hasn't already been said. They were a freakin' awesome band! And Lux was like the sleazy side of Elvis on stage. I saw the Cramps in Minneapolis a few years back and they were incredible. RIP - Lux.I love this song! I just love the way Lux sings "The president's calling an emergency meetin'

Dedication to the new day,

This is a double dedication to the new President and the people of America (maybe even people of earth)! Now is no time to sit on our laurels and take it easy:We've Come So Far to Be Here Today (thank you Radio Birdman), however we still gotta Long Way To Go (thank you Alice Cooper).*I don't have either of these songs in digital form, so you'll have to go hunt them down yourselves.

I had it wrong last year, I think, remembering Fred Sonic Smith and Rob Tyner
over 3 years ago

I posted a post about Fred Sonic Smith last year on the 5th of November. I think he may have actually passed away on the 4th of Nov. So today should be Fred Sonic Smith day: a day to remember one vastly underrated guitarist and song writer. Not to mention one of Detroit's finest men. I missed posting on Rob Tyner's day of passing, so to honor both men I'm posting one of my favorite MC5 tunes. A...

Ron Asheton

I live in this piss ant college town called Ann Arbor. One cool thing we had in this no horse town was Ron Asheton! And its really strange because there is a handful of us here that know who the man was and always took pride that Ron and the Stooges were from Ann Arbor (NOT Detroit!). And I could tell people I lived across the highway from Ron Asheton (I-94), just a Stroh's bottle throw away. Howe

End of the year purchase #2 ~ Sinatra and Dorsey
over 3 years ago

Final purchase of 2008 #2 is an oldie but a goldie. I've been putting this off for a little while, and then I decided to spend money I don't really have to get the double LP, 1980s release of the Tommy Dorsey & Frank Sinatra sessions Vol. 2. Was that a run-on sentence? Anyway...I love the combination of Doresy and Sinatra circa 1940. I already have vol. 1, so of course it was time to pick up Vol.

Xmas, missed my Mogaversary, end of the year purchase #1
over 3 years ago

Well, I missed my second Mog anniversary on the 26th. So I'm making up for it now with an Xmas and end of the year song.Instead of a Best of 2008 list (mostly because I didn't buy anything new this year, except maybe Kepi Ghoulie and Miss Treatment) I've decided to share with you all my final 2 purchases of 2008. First up is Whit Hill and John Latini's D-E-A-R S-A-N-T-A CD (which is a pain in the

The place where I live

First of all I LOVE Color Me Psycho. And I love the cassette album Kiss Me Then... And furthermore I love this song: Shatter City.If you were to visit my Myspace page (which I am deleting on Thursday because I hate Myspace!) you would see that I live in Shatter City. For those of you who have done as I have, left your hometown only to move back for a stupid reason, this song is for us!

Electrophonic Tonic will put a little hair on your chest
over 3 years ago

...or how this 30 year old song is still appropriate. No secret that I love the Sonic's Rendezvous Band. This song seems just as appropriate today as it did when it was recorded. Trouble with women is always a topic for us straight men, however the line about "can't find a job/work as hard as you can" is what strikes me most right now. I recently got a new job, but was unemployed previous to that.
