Andrew Bird played "Fake Palindromes" in Nashville the other night, and the drummer from My Morning Jacket sat in! I understand he doesn't play it too often anymore. It was great. I also saw Jim James of MMJ in the crowd - hardly recognized him with his new 'do.
My band just got the first track from our new album mixed by an awesome dude named Mark Endert. He rocked out the drums and made the vocals on the chorus pop-tastic. Hope you like it!ps - any suggestions on what "genre" this is or what the "sound" is would be much appreciated, because i never know how to answer that question.
I don't get it. why is the press all over these guys? the drummer is bitchin', i'll give them that, but i couldn't make it past the 4th song when they played in Chapel Hill tonight. kind of bland, virtually structureless songs almost devoid of memorable melodies or any other redeeming qualities, although the band had good energy and stage presence. the tunes i heard were full of noodly riffs,
The other night I walked into my local record store to pick up 3 new albums by TV on the Radio, Junior Boys, and Yo La Tengo. I walked around the store for a bit looking for them on the racks, only to realize they were lined up right next to each other on the display directly in front of the entrance. The only conclusion I can reach from this experience? I am a walking cliche.
